2005 - Centenary Year of Franz Lehar's Operetta
|
16th - 19th March 2005 Director: David Turner The Merry Widow opened in Vienna in 1905 when the world was given an operetta which launched a century of musical plays. It is a joyous work, a carnival of the senses with superb musical bringing pleasure throughout. One of the best scores ever written for the stage makes it perhaps the first great music theatre piece of the 20th century. The Merry Widow is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2005 and
we are pleased to have David Turner, our
President, as Director of our production.
