My Fair Lady - Autumn 2005

 My Fair Lady

21 - 24 September 2005

Director:  David Turner
Musical Director: Helen Emery
Assistant Director: Carolyn Bennett

We bring Lerner & Loewe's multi award winning musical to the Pavilion Theatre, Worthing in September 2005.

A musical play in two acts based on Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw, this is the bewitching story of a cockney flower girl’s transformation into the pride of London society.  When overbearing Professor Higgins stumbles on Eliza Doolittle in Covent garden he recognises that her hideous vowels and forgotten consonants are all that separate her from the upper classes.  Higgins makes a wager that he can pass her off as a Duchess in a matter of weeks. Too eloquent for a flower girl and without the breeding of the upper classes, what is to become of Eliza when the bet is over?

The score is brimming with great songs including 'I could have danced all night', 'Get me to the church on time', ' I'm getting married in the morning' and ' Wouldn't it be loverly'.

So why not come along and enjoy the elegance of Ascot and the exuberance of the cockney knees-up?
